Think Pink: The Berkeley Dress Show 2012
Last month I was given the wonderful opportunity to step into the world of debutantes once more for the Berkeley Dress Show 2012. It was such a surreal experience to walk into the venue, the House of Lords!
I was a debutante in the 2010 London Season which was the most amazing experience! Then last Summer I was honoured to be asked to create and run a blog, Twitter and Facebook page for the London Season. Speaking of which, the rest of my backstage photos from the BDS 2012 can be found in a photo album on said Facebook page.
We were treated to a delightful tour round the Houses of Parliament and learnt a fascinating history whilst I took in as much of the art work as I could! Then it was time to head back to the hive of activity which was the backstage area.
It was really wonderful to be able to chat to John Boyd and his team, whose marvellous hats we were modelling. He is incredibly lovely and a real millinery inspiration. Somehow without me saying a word about my style or preferences he picked out a perfectly beautiful pink floral hat for me which could not have suited my personality more and I must confess I had been rather hoping to have the chance to wear!
And yes, this was a definite night of near miss hat collisions, especially in the line up waiting to step out in rehearsals! A hat really makes you think about how you stand and hold yourself, with the power to change how you feel.
