Exams are a bed of roses- literally
Hooray for the end of exams! OK so there's a pile of fabric waiting to made into a coursework dress on Monday, but I still breathe a sigh of relief.
Here is my dress from the exam project, inspired by David Austin Roses, Dolce & Gabbana, Henri Fantin-Latour and Helene Soubeyran.

So the dress isn't actually quite finished in this picture so please ignore the hem, the general mess of the lining not being fully attached to the bodice and not that you can see it, but it hadn't actually been joined at the back at this point, plus minor adjustments to the roses were made. The red ones, well they are in the same fabric as the main structure, don't show up so well here. I would have liked the rose to cover the skirt more really, but hey, I had a time limit to both make and attach them in so it's not so bad really, well I hope so! I can't help but think it's a little 'studenty' as Tim Gunn of Project Runway might say- yes I'm a student but I'm also a perfectionist. Plenty to time to work on my skills over the summer :)

Florrie, this is fantastic! I really wish I could design/sew. And I wish we had fashion classes when I was at school. I am so incredibly impressed!
