Sadly a fashion comeback doesn't seem to be in the near future; it's not ruled out but it seems to be an "if I come back to it". However, Luella did start off as a journalist and so a book is quite a natural thing. The book has been planned for a while but I guess the one good thing about the label's demise (sob) is that she's had the time to work on it.
I remember her describing the ss09 collection as 'Princess Anne on acid' in Harpers Bazaar March 09, I'm really looking forward to seeing the eclectic mix of style influences in the book. Out on 14th October it is called Luella's Guide to English Style and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy! And in the meantime, I suggest you all go and buy Vogue to have a taste of what is to come.
The book will be published by Fourth Estate with an RRP of £20 and the photograph in the article is by David Sims (fashion photographed and Luella's partner, you may have seen him in the film The September Issue as he shot the couture modelled by Raquel Zimmerman and styled by Grace Coddington at Versailles).

I was really excited when I saw the title of your post. I love Luella too. Shame she is not going back to being a designer at the moment but I will definitely be getting her book, I can't wait. Thanks for the reminder to get my name down in advance.
Sad that Luella's not being re-launched, but it would be great to read her book. Can't wait.
Ooh, I must have missed this when I flicked through my mum's copy of Vogue the other day - will have to go back and have a proper read! I'm really looking forward to her book!
