A touch of Jade

Jade opened just a few months ago in Stafford, my local town so I went to have a visit and generally be nosey. The store, just off Bridge St by the river, works rather like Elite in Manchester. People sell their clothes to the shop which is a fabulous way of recycling.  I think it's an especially good practice when it comes to evening dresses which you won't be wearing more than once, and then as a buyer you can get a very reasonably priced dress for a one off occasion. Everything is high quality and ranges from good high street and some quirky little labels to designer. I have no problem with second hand as I think it's a great shame for things still in excellent condition to go unworn, and I found no horrors hiding away in this gorgoues boutique. They also stock some new accessories such as jewllery and some millinery which I was rather taken with.
I personally came out a happy shopper with a lovely green Topshop jacket which I just adore the colour of and a little floral bolero from 'Love Lola' which is just so unusual looking which is one of the joys in shopping somewhere where there's normally only one of everything. I love the search and finding that perfect item which I'd have been so unlikely to find cropping up anywhere else.

I really love second hand trading shops, I've got some really great things from one in my local town, even if their target customer is more in my mum's age range! I got a knitted Tommy Hilfiger waistcoat for a tenner :)

Wow, selling old clothes is a great idea. I have a lot of clothes which I can't give to charity as they were so expensive. I think I'm due a trip!

For me it is more thrilling to get into a second hand shop, charity shop or car boot sale than into Chanel. I never know what I am going to find. It feels like opening Cxmas presents when you were little.
No second hand places around me...
Thank you again for your lovely, lovely Cxmas card.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
