River Island SS12 Press Day

I've already shown you the amazing rack of lace, pink and florals I completely geeked out over at the River Island SS12 press day- well here are some more snapshots of the amazing clothes in store. The trends for the season are Miami, Spring Break, Prairie, Ethnic, Purist and Sugar!
There are definitely some fabulous statement pieces to be found and this is one very fashion forward high street collection with clothes worthy of the catwalk.
I really love the little shell theme going on in the beautiful purple swimsuit, beachwear and those amazing candy coloured sequins. Then there are some bright and bold graphic prints which remind me a little of Holly Fulton's work which I saw at London Fashion Week. We have some throwbacks to the colourful prints of the 80s and also candy coloured pieces which remind me of my childhood in the 90s- I'm especially loving the ice cream shorts!
The impressive attention to detail, embellishment and workmanship really stands out in a way that I wasn't expecting- just look at the studs on that last bodycon number! This continues into the accessories where there are some real stand out pieces.
I'm heading to London again tomorrow and will be including a little shopping. I'm really rather excited to be heading to the flagship store on Oxford Street for an exploration of the full collection!
