Sweet Seduction: Pam Hogg AW12

The anticipation was high as hoards of fashion folk descended upon the Freemasons Hall for Pam Hogg's AW12 London Fashion Week show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. The daring designer's clothes aren't for the faint of heart and her show was certainly a spectacle from the star studded front row to the eerie doll like make up of the models and those fabulous stand out bonnets.
Oh those bonnets! They're such stunningly structured pieces of millinery- I am quite in love with them, and the extreme petticoats too. Also present were Pam Hogg's signature bold graphic panelled bodysuits, providing a stark contrast in silhouette.
Seemingly country inspired, this collection is far from meek and mild and any sense of modesty soon made way to darkly sensual garments comprising of saucy sheers and sometimes little more than a few ornate bows. This was a collection all about the juxtaposition of the sweet and the seductive.
The colour palette featured fierce reds, futuristic metallics and seductive blacks whilst my favourite gown came in a more innocent soft pink. I was really happy to take a closer look at the collection at the Pop PR press day and get a better look at all the intricate detail that went into the clothes. I'd been smitten with the shimmering pink sequined dress at the time of the show, but only up close could I truly appreciate the exquisite detail in the embellishment and the intricate floral motif within the sparkling sequins.
Hogg's work is so incredible and original, always staying true to her fun, fantastical aesthetic.
