Fields of Florals: Antoni and Alison SS12

At London Fashion Week Antoni and Alison blew me away with their innovative collage print techniques in a triumphant show of Models walking up and down in dresses. Their SS12 designs also feature a similarly wonderful aesthetic and I love these fun and imaginative takes on florals!
In these dresses we can see a traditional canvas from the 40s tea dress to the classic wrap style, but what is truly intriguing is the wonderful layered collage effect in the fabric.
There is something so incredibly joyful about Antoni Burakowski and Alison Roberts' creative way of tactile layering which appeals to one's artistic side. It makes you want to dig out your craft supplies, grab some scissors and glue and spend an afternoon creating a scrapbook full of loveliness.
The last dress has the feel of porcelain in the delicate print, which is then broken up with bright and bold larger flowers. Then the yellow dandelion flowers on the first silk dress are again so cheerful, delightfully paired with a wispy ballerina effect skirt for a whimsical style perfect for daydreaming in the countryside.
