I absolutely adore hats and I've never hidden the fact I'm a bit of a fangirl when it comes to the work of milliner extraordinaire Stephen Jones. Each season when I step into Somerset House I'm always so excited to see his marvellous creations for the coming season and SS13 did not disappoint!
The most striking pieces in Jones' collection are three magnificently elegant hats inspired by clouds, as seen above. They're just so dreamy! I especially love the wispy treated chiffon in the second image as it's so incredibly atmospheric.
Elsewhere in the collection vivid jewel tones and dashes of sparkle stood out. I was especially enamoured with the detailing in the beautiful plaited pastel tulle and also one fabulously vintage style hat, which I can't help but feel Audrey Hepburn and Cecil Beaton would have loved, complete with a glamourous wide brim and a row of bows which remind me of Marie Antoinette's extravagant Rococo bodices.
Stephen Jones showcases both amazing flare and technical prowess, creating jaw dropping pieces I can only imagine would be such a delight to wear. Once again my millinery wishlist grows longer than ever...
