Over the years I've had many a reason to stop over night in London, whether it's after a late night event such as a charity ball or a long day at a convention. However, I'm afraid to say I've had some pretty crummy hotels putting a dampener on my adventures. In London sadly your money doesn't always get you as far as you'd hope and whilst there are some lovely hotels out there for £100 there are also some that disappoint.
Before Groupon got in touch to see whether I'd like to review something I must admit I hadn't thought of them as a site to book a hotel through, but I really wish I had sooner! With the help of their snazzy online shopping vouchers, for the same money you can get a far nicer and more special experience for your night away. Then there are some fantastic offers to upgrade to treats such as afternoon tea to make your visit even more memorable for a great price.
I decided to use my voucher on a stay at the Ambassadors Bloomsbury for my 21st birthday weekend so I could properly enjoy two days in the city and make the most of each day rather than having to rush back to the train station. I also got to see Shrek the Musical in the evening, which was great fun, whilst normally I'd be almost back home by that point!
One huge advantage of the Ambassadors Bloomsbury is the easy walking distance from Euston and Kings Cross stations. I hopped off my train upon arrival in London and made my way to the sleek hotel foyer well before check in time but the check in team were fantastic about me leaving my bags early, with an efficient and secure system I was really grateful for, and I also left my bag with ease on the second day too. The staff were always so friendly and helpful throughout my stay and made me feel really welcome. I enjoyed the comforts of a very cosy bed, a clean bathroom and a hearty breakfast to send me on my way.
Having booked using a voucher from Groupon I can say the website is easy to use and upon ringing the hotel everything was simple. Next time I need to book a hotel the getaways page on Groupon will definitely be my first port of call as I know I'll be getting a bargainous deal and will have the peace of mind that I'll be arriving to a fantastic hotel.
