10 Years Young: Selfridges Birmingham
Selfridges Birmingham was the first shop I fell in love with, there's something just so magical about it. When I started my Saturday job at the age of 14 I was soon saving up my wages to make regular exursions to the womenswear floor and indulge my handbag habit. I still get the same thrill today emerging off the escalator on to the fourth floor.
Last night I headed to the store's official 10th birthday celebrations and I really love all the festive store displays! Held in the stunning Moet Bar and Gallery Restaurant, we were treated to champagne and a rather fabulous performance from cabaret artist Le Gateau Chocolat.
The sunshine yellow Selfridges van has been out and about giving treats in Birmingham and there are special celebrations in store until Sunday 8th including competitions, signature mugs and an adorable tin of tea bags being given to every 10th customer at Cath Kidston, and Mulberry have created a special canary yellow edition of the iconic Bayswater bag. There's so much going on in store and later in the month I'm really looking forward to seeing the Bullring's fashion show at Style Birmingham Live.
I couldn't resist including a photograph of these divine Charlotte Olympia ankle boots I spotted on the shop floor, how amazing is the beautiful clock face design?
