I find that a huge part of the fun of any special occasion is always the getting ready, from putting your outfit together to the finishing touches on the day. My early prep always begins with nail polish, as whilst it's the perfect finishing touch to an outfit I always seem to spoil mine one way or another if I leave too many layers to the last minute. My favourite way to finish off my nails has to be with a coat shimmering of glitter, and I also like to take the sparkly approach with my jewellery and playful statement accessories, from my bag to my shoes.
Most importantly, a beautiful party dress which looks great and makes you feel like the belle of the ball, even when you're simply going on a night out with friends, is essential. Whilst occasionwear makes the perfect opportunity to add dashes of sparkling embellishment with sequins and beading, I like to wear dresses which capture the spirit of my usual style and I really love these lovely party dresses from bonprix, which are perfect for special occasion but also capture three of my favourite fashion things: peter pan collars, polka dots and pretty pastel shades.
