The YEASHIN SS14 collection, a Summer afternoon party, was a ray of sunshine on a September day at London Fashion Week. Yeashin Kim's work caught my eye at the Ones To Watch show back in February with her intriguing eye for texture and panelling. This collection was truly delightful, its pretty and delicate nature captured everything I love most about Spring. You can see the 1960s influence in Yeashin's work again, from the length of the dresses to their silhouettes, yet the collection maintains an almost doll-like innocent feel- the models with flushed cheeks and simple plaits in their glossy locks.
There was an intriguing mix of fabrics from the stiff to the floaty, each garment flowing beautifully down the catwalk, and with pretty pastels paired with luxurious shimmering sheens. As well as clever panelling, there was an ingenious incorporation of pleats and gathering. There were so many beautiful details- from a pointed little collar finished with tear drop beads to an armhole finished with lace, and many exquisite examples of embroidery. The dainty little leafs are particularly enchanting and of course I loved the adorable hats which some of the looks were finished off with. This was a stunning collection full of clothes which would be a delight to wear, and I'm excited to see more of Yeashin Kim's work in the future.
