Still, it's a good chance to buy a fabulous coat, and even better many are in the sales now. Walking through town is much more interesting when people have pretty coats. :)
I haven't always found winter dressing very inspiring, but the ladies of Gossip Girl make the once humble winter warm excessively appealing.

Florrie - this is a brilliant post. I too am all for the layering today. Base layer is Bridgedale Walking Socks, American Apparel boy short pants and a DP Vest, skinny Monsoon grey/blue jeans, French Connection Tshirt Dress, Kew Long Cardigan, My cathkidston shawly type scarf (the one I wore when we met. Then when I had to brave the weather I popped on my husbands Merc Parka, fuscia lambswool lined john Lewis gloves and purple Doc martins. Not too shappy and lovely and warm.

It is insane cold here, and soo icy that only big stompy boots can be worn. I have to admit there is no fashion in my life right now, just layers of thermals and dodgy jumpers - oh with my Chanel bag of course ;-)
