Selfridges Love

Saying that I bought something in Selfridges was a little open ended. In the past it would have been likely I'd gone to the Birmingham store after I'd been saving a while and want to splurge in the accessories department. However I must be honest and say the Brum store has lost some of its appeal since a refurbishment of the top floor several months ago when even the escalators changed direction (they've since changed again, it's a little disconcerting!) and I have not had the satisfaction of one of those yellow carrier bags lately. I used to think of it as a home from home but the change was too drastic and I'm really not sure about the new layout. I think that despite being smaller the Manchester (Exchange Square) store is nice. Of course the London one is in a league of its own.
Having strolled around the magical realm of the Oxford Street designer department I was just leaving when I wondered if the London store also had a Hello Kitty section so off I trotted in search of the childrens department, and I was not disappointed.
Shop Assistant: "Can I help you Madame?"
Florrie: "No thank you.
You have so much lovely Hello Kitty stuff!"
Shop Assistant: "Who are you shopping for?"
Florrie: *slight pause* "Me"
She was actually a very nice lady but found me a little amusing in my excessive cheerfulness at such a wonderful array of Kitty things.
How adorable is this?
I also found a plastic table cover for the picnik I have planned- and being gingham it is very on trend. I couldn't resist some ballerina Kitty stickers and I'd been wanting some page markers and they don't come cuter than these! It's definitely a must visit for any HK fan as the choice of stock is immense.
I think I have Hello Kitty radar.
Arriving in Kensington I looked across the street and spotted her face in a window.
You can get Hello Kitty glasses!! Or at least children can anyway, I wonder if I asked very sweetly they'd make me an adult pair, hehe. OK calm down Florrie.
And that was your dose of Hello Kitty niceness dear readers. :)
