Touch is such an important part of any shopping experience to me, and when cashmere is done right it's one of my favourite things to stroke! There's no denying it can get rather expensive though. I was delighted when Most Wanted, the online lifestyle magazine at VoucherCodes.co.uk, sent me the loveliest email inviting me to take part in their Most Wanted Seasonal Staples series – The Cashmere Challenge.
I'm part of a group enlisted to review the 100% cashmere jumpers the high street has to offer, looking at price, look and quality. I was kindly given the choice to choose a jumper from John Lewis and picked the v-neck style in cobalt blue. The toughest part was choosing the colour as they have several yummy options.
I partly chose the design and colour because it reminds me of one of my dad's old jumpers. I have a habit of 'stealing' them when they get worn out and then snuggling in them at home. So for me this was partly a chance to update that secure feeling into a fashion statement. In a more flattering way too- my dad's over 6'4"!
I really like the fit of the jumper. I'm not normally a fan of jumpers which are too close fitting but this one is a little slouchy in a cosy way whilst still being womanly and not swamping my waist. I tend to buy one of two sizes on the high street right now and went for the larger. So if you have a similar mix of sizes in your wardrobe you could probably get away with going for the smaller size for a closer fit. I, however, like the looser snuggle effect.
The v-neck is great fun when it comes with choosing what to layer and have peeping out underneath. You could pair the jumper with jeans, layer it over a dress or tuck it into a skirt for a more ladylike look. A truly versatile wardrobe staple. I also approve of the seams- they're nice and discreet, not bulking up the line of the garment.
Then of course there is the all important texture! I'm pleased to report that this is one gorgeously soft piece of cashmere to delight in wearing.
This jumper has the great positive of being machine washable- cue huge sigh of relief from my mum! Cashmere's never the easiest fabric to care for but the high street has made it a much smoother process.
The jumper isn't especially cheap at £69 but I think it's a good investment as a piece that stands out on quality amongst my knitwear collection. If you're looking to splurge at John Lewis I definitely recommend hopping over to the John Lewis offers page to get yourself a fantastic deal.

I do love cashmere but I am always put off my washing jumpers in winter, you just can't get the damn things dry, but I love the fact this one is machine washable, I will bear this in mind as it will dry quicker than one that needs handwashing.

I love cashmere but it can be expensive (cheaper ones fade and bobble quickly) - John Lewis is a great, reliable brand and I will definitely keep an eye on their cashmere range.
I love the colour, it looks so elegant and really suits you. I love soft cosy cashmere and definitely need to invest in some (machine washable!) goodies!
