High Street Hits: The Cocktail Dress

Oh the allure of the cocktail dress. Whilst not as formal as a full on black tie event or white tie ball, a cocktail attire dress code is a chance to sparkle. Embellishments are welcomed on chic dresses paired with snazzy accessories and a good pair of heels. Whilst scouring the internet for options for an upcoming event I am attending I decided to turn my search into a blog post! I haven't published a High Street Hits post for a while but they are such fun to put together. I seem to be drawn to a fabulous range of jewel colours in green, blue and purple. So let's take a look at the gorgeous dresses I've found window shopping online:

I absolutely love 1, 4 and 5. The colours are really pretty, and think the pleat designs just work really well with the dress design especially no.1 :-)

They're all lovely, but 3 is my favorite, as I'm partial to turquoise. I agree that there's just something about a cocktail dress! They're so much flirtier and fun than full-length gowns.

1 and 2 remind me of my bridesmaid dresses. I adore teal as a winter colour, it's warm and bright, so much fun to accessorise.

I love feeling sophisticated and elegant in cocktail dresses, though don't have too many occasions to wear them to anymore. My favourites are 4 and 6 because they aren't too fussy, but seem like they'd fit well and be flattering. But that's just me!

I love the green dresses and the sequin prom dress. I definitely need to get myslef some cocktail dress type of events to go along to this Christmas.

I love the colours you've picked!

I think a cocktail dress is definitely something important to have in your wardrobe - they are perfect for so many semi-formal occaisions when you want to dress up but a full length gown would look too much.
