I always feel like a bit of a fan girl when it comes to the work of milliner extraordinaire Stephen Jones. Accordingly I was very excited to visit his showcase in the London Fashion Week exhibition at Somerset House and see his concoctions for the new AW12 season.
A headband with a birdcage veil immediately caught and delighted my eye due to the shiny gems carefully placed on it, and it's so beautifully shaped! Its friend with blue spots is also rather fun. I'm really loving bird cage netting right now and I love how Jones has used it, including as a cute little detail on a corduroy cap.
In the full on quirky arena the delicate metal eyelashes are such an amazing feat of construction and doesn't the knitted beard put a huge grin on your face? I love how Stephen Jones creates pieces of both intrinsic beauty and fun.
