When I saw Inbar Spector's stunning AW12 show at London Fashion Week, I was enamoured not only with the breathtaking clothes but also with the stunning headpieces, as created in collaboration with Lara Jensen.
I was delighted to see the headpieces up close of at Blow PR press day last week as they are absolutely exquisite. The delicate shapes and construction at work in the designs are so intricate and amazing to behold when seen this close. They also make a huge impact in the catwalk looks whilst complimenting the fantastical, fairytale feel of Inbar Spector's collection.
According to an interview with Jensen on the Vauxhall Fashion Scout blog they are inspired by vibrant colours, tattoos, Arabian culture, fragility and Fabergé.
With an MA in Costume Design for Performance from the London College of Fashion Lara Jensen is quite the multi talented young milliner and costume designer. I absolutely adore how she has taken the aesthetic of fine jewellery and translated it into a stunning millinery concept to create these things of beauty.
I doubt they're the most practical items but wouldn't it be so wonderful to wear one? I'd absolutely love to photograph- and also create a painting of- them in a styled portrait!
