Just as the sun has finally decided to make an appearance it feels odd to be making my way to Christmas press days, but as a wholehearted believer that sequins are not just for Christmas it's lovely to see so many sparkly things in July!
The Motel Rocks press day showcased a gorgeous array of trends for AW12 and as I browsed the rails I could feel a wishlist brewing.
Their sparkly offerings for the party season are absolutely divine, I particularly love the mint green sequins which look like they belong on a mystical mermaid. Then there is their shiny new Magic dress. Combining two contrasting hues the sequins change colour depending on how they lie, creating an enchanting effect for a night out.
Another favourite for special occasions is the mid length dress seen in my first photograph. Featuring a softly hanging skirt it offers a fabulous take on the Little Black Dress with fun on trend bodice details such as a rainbow of sequins or a poptastic print.
There are several bold graphic prints in contrasting tones and the 90's makes a strong revival. Then there are opulent baroque details on shimmering velvets. The colour choices are beautiful in rich reds, blues and purples. One sweet little pleated skirt in particular caught my eye, with a black and purple marbled effect print speckled with silver glitter so that it almost feels like the night sky.
I'm a floral girl through and through and over the seasons Motel Rocks has done the most lovely floral prints in their Winter Garden theme. This season doesn't disappoint with striking Winter florals. One comprises of shades of grey which would look wonderful with pops of sparkle and colour. The other features a black base colour but wonderfully vibrant roses.
I'm suddenly feeling so excited for the new season and Motel Rocks has captured a gorgeous group of trends. So fellow magpies, what trends have caught your eyes?
