I absolutely love giving presents, it's simply something that brings me a lot of joy. There's the thrill of the hunt and then the absolute delight when you find the perfect thing for someone. Let's face it though, we all know some people who are a teensy bit tricky to pick for and can leave you feeling bamboozled.
Every Christmas and birthday there always comes the awkward moment when my dad asks 'Who got you that?' and my mum and I have to laugh as it's a joint present from the two of them. Bless. He's really sweet but shopping just isn't his forte.
AskHerFriends is a snazzy website which pulls together gift ideas from around the web and makes the process a whole lot easier by putting many lovely things in one place. It's truly unique strength is that the gift buyer can then share their ideas via social media and email to get feedback from the lucky recipient's friends and family as to which options are completely barking up the wrong tree and which would be absolutely perfect. Buying gifts should be fun, not a worry, so this feature can take away some of that stress, especially in the run up to Christmas.
AskHerFriends was founded by Ben Blomerley, who once bought an ex-girlfriend a worm farm but found that asking a girlfriend's mum and friends for advice steered him in a far less icky direction. AskHerFriends is there for those in need of a helping hand with an app in the works and also a sister site AskHisFriends in construction. The site's easy to get round with gifts handily organised by category and also price- I even spotted a few quirky ideas for my own friends from well known brands to little known treasures. Play with the Ideas Map if the perfect gift is still escaping you and spot further inspiration on the experts' advice blog. So go on and enlist a few little helpers.
