In Grandma's Attic: Miwary

One of my favourite discoveries at Hyper Japan Christmas event this weekend was an intriguing stall called Miwary, the brainchild of Japanese seamstress Miwa Vicary. I'd barely spotted one gem when I spied another at this amazing stand of delights and I love the 'found in Grandma's attic' aesthetic.
As a daydreaming little girl Vicary made her Barbie dolls dresses and her current work showcases a wonderfully keen attention to detail, even in miniature. She then studied fashion at Esmod Japon in Osaka and came to London ten years ago to study at Central Saint Martins Art & Design college.
These handmade treasures are so delightfully full of charm and perfect for adding a little character to any outfit. Miwa Vicary is particularly inspired by the Japanese Mori girl street style- Mori means forest and so these little bunny and bear creatures are perfect for the whimsical style. A little golden bunny ring captured my heart and hopped into my shopping bag, it's such a cheerful piece and one I think I'll get a lot of joy out of.
