Shoesday: Floral Frolics

Florals are one of my favourite things, but I've sadly got out of the habit of wearing them of late. So a pair of fabulous flowery shoes seems the perfect way to inject them back into my outfits! Whilst I'll most happily sport a floral all year round, and I certainly won't resign them to the back of my wardrobe through the colder months, there's no denying pretty flower motifs are in their element in the Summer sun.
From elegant roses, which make me think of Fantin-Latour's 19th century still life paintings, to daisies, which make think of childhood afternoons on the lawn crafting chain jewellery from the cute little flowers, florals vary so much in their character and to suit your fashion mood.
Les Tropéziennes par M Belarbi offer a light take on sandals meanwhile Miss L'Fire look to the allure of 50's pin ups with their glamorous stiletto court shoes. The iconic Converse hi top sneaker also looks incredibly pretty given a dainty floral twist, with a print which wouldn't look out of place on a porcelain teacup!
So many pretties, but which lovely pair is your favourite?

1. DS3265, D&G
2. Confie, Les Tropéziennes par M Belarbi
3. Summer Freckles, Irregular Choice

5. Rikai, PintoDiBlu
6. Dass Flower, Eject

7. Emily Flor, Cristofoli
8. Dame, Miss L'Fire
9. Oscar Velvet Garden, Rocket Dog

D&G devotion

Well for my fashion exam work I'm looking at Dolce & Gabbana, particuarly the rose prints in their beautiful ss10 collection. Today I drew the D&G LBD I got for my birthday- isn't it kind of fabulous that my education justifies my spending habits! ;)
I drew the outline in pencil, coloured the mid section with water colour paints and did the rest with ink and a paintbrush. I love the lace but it took a lot of concentration to get the pattern right.

Internet woes and pretty dresses.

Here's what my internet thought today: 'I've been good all morning and afternoon, putting up with all this silly fashion and art research, now I'm bored. While that Florrie's having dinner I've got time to go to sleep... Oh dear, I think I overslept and now she's ready to go to bed, better perk up a bit..'
Silly, silly internet. *sighs*

Here are some recent polyvore sets of mine to get through the day.
The first (hello Luella ss09!) is the type of thing I would wear; pretty dress, booties and headband.

Ruffles

This is a much more sparkly one with the upcoming party season in mind.

Ladylike Sparkles

And this is a more ladylike look for a trip to the opera or such. =)

An evening at the opera

Disclaimer: I do indeed know that the internet is inanimate.

Good night all!

Is there a LBD out there?

My own illustration; sorry it's smudged!
Sad but true: I do not have a classic little black dress in my wardrobe. :o
A lovely black dress with a white pan collar from Oasis that is cute in it's way yes, but not a high-glamour, pull-on-and-feel gorgeous number.

I currently have my eye on this D&G;

Dolce Dress

If money were no object, but alas it is, I would wear it with this fabulous Luella clutch and a pair of Louboutins, which are not the style pictured, but are the colour. And I would add in some simple jewellery a pair of pearls and a nice bracelet maybe.
