Shoesday: Melissa's Plastic Paradise

What a week! First of all I started a new treatment in the hope it will help my migraines, so for a few days I felt absolutely shattered by that, and then my internet provider started making 'improvements' in the local area, so in the meantime my connection back home is next to useless. I did manage to go to a lovely event on Saturday though, so you'll be hearing more about that soon!
For today's Shoesday post I thought I'd feature a brand which has fast become one of my favourites. Melissa's plastic paradise holds a nostalgic quality which reminds me of the joy of childhood jelly shoes, especially in the current glorious sunshine, but as well as being incredibly fun they also have an elegance perfect for 'grown ups'.
I was first aware of the brand through their fabulous collaborations with the amazing Vivienne Westwood, and adore the few pairs I've collected, and looking through the current shoes a pair of glamorous Lady Dragon court shoes in collaboration with Jason Wu caught my eye- complete with shimmering metallic bow, the black sling backs make one sophisticated statement. Then the flat shoes, from a dip dye effect Divine Fade to the delightfully glittery Ultragirl, are simply so much fun.

Shoesday: Fabulous Flats

There's no denying that the humble flat shoe is very much an item of practicality, but that's no reason why it should not to be fabulous! Even at London Fashion Week when queuing for shows on the last hectic day I spied many a cosy flat shoe giving weary fashion feet a welcome rest. What's more they are perfect for heading on exciting adventures where high heels just can't tread- many apologies Victoria Beckham!
From relaxing countryside strolls to busy days exploring the city or even countries far away on exciting holidays, a lovely pair of flat shoes will see you far- keeping your feet both happy and looking good. I'm loving Rocket Dog's whimsical and ever so cheerful floral motifs, which remind me of hazy childhood afternoons spent earnestly making daisy chains, the longer the better; and also Melissa's fantastically sparkly glitter confections, which can add a little razzle dazzle to an every day outfit or complete a stunning look for a sparkly evening out.

A Spring in Your Step

Shoes are a wonderful way to add a little fun to your outfit. The approaching Summer months offer the perfect chance to head off on an elegant adventure in a fabulous pair of court shoes, or you could simply brighten up your work look with some fabulous footwear which puts a spring in your step and a smile on your face.
From shiny patent to matte suede, there are so many cheerful colours around at the moment as well as lots of really fun details. Polka dots are classic and ever so cute, meanwhile sweet bows turn oversized for impact and daisies and cherries are adorable. Or if you're feeling incredibly sweet you could even have cupcakes on your shoes! My favourite brand for Summer shoes has to be Melissa, combining a nostalgic love of jelly shoes with sophistication to create gorgeous shoes, and I especially love the brand's Vivienne Westwood collaborations.
