Shoesday: Fabulous Flats

There's no denying that the humble flat shoe is very much an item of practicality, but that's no reason why it should not to be fabulous! Even at London Fashion Week when queuing for shows on the last hectic day I spied many a cosy flat shoe giving weary fashion feet a welcome rest. What's more they are perfect for heading on exciting adventures where high heels just can't tread- many apologies Victoria Beckham!
From relaxing countryside strolls to busy days exploring the city or even countries far away on exciting holidays, a lovely pair of flat shoes will see you far- keeping your feet both happy and looking good. I'm loving Rocket Dog's whimsical and ever so cheerful floral motifs, which remind me of hazy childhood afternoons spent earnestly making daisy chains, the longer the better; and also Melissa's fantastically sparkly glitter confections, which can add a little razzle dazzle to an every day outfit or complete a stunning look for a sparkly evening out.

High Street Hits: Step Into Spring

The most appropriate footwear for the thick, crunchy layer of snow outside might well be wellington boots, but isn't it supposed to be Spring? I love the influx of pastel tones and cheerful sunshine colours into the shops at this time of year and there are some seriously yummy shoes about. High Street Hits: Bootie Call

My little feet have been rather chilly this week and I've been craving something a little warmer than my usual footwear. I have a bit of an aesthetic weakness for short boots, especially perhaps classic lace up Victorian influenced styles. Whilst some of these ankle boots might be a teensy bit more practical than others they're all rather gorgeous and would be a joy to wear to brighten up Autumnal outfits.

Bath Snapshots and Snacks

I've already posted the movie costume exhibition I saw, but there is so much more to show you of the beautiful city of Bath. I went with my wonderful friend, Emma. One of the best, or worst if you're trying to avoid temptation, things about Bath is the number of delicious little shops, tea rooms, patisseries and cafes. Here's where Emma and I munched:




We discovered Fudge Factory near Bath Abbey last year and the fudge is truly scrumptious. My favourite is vanilla with a caramel centre, but I also spied a pretty new flavour called Strawberry Swirl. They stock the cutest candies that would make perfect gifts too, chocolate cat anyone?








On our wonderings we also discovered a little place called The Canary Tea Rooms on Queen Street which apparently only opened on 24th August. Though the tea rooms closed in 1998 they have quite a history, which is being built upon with the reopening. I thought it was lovely in cheerful shades of blue and yellow, with delightful mismatched crockery. I love the fact that my tea pot matches my outfit!
I ordered a cream tea, but requested peppermint tea, for a very reasonable £6. Emma meanwhile ordered a scrummy looking meringue desert and sparkling water.




What trip to Bath would be complete without a stroll on the Royal Cresent? I must say I've never seen a chap in historic costume there before though! We spotted another by the Jane Austen Centre, I guess it must be quite a pleasant job. One year Emma and I would love to go to one of the events where everyone gets dressed up and dances Jane Austen style!

Having a merry little Christmas, complete with handmade Hello Kitty decorations and an acid pink tree

Here are some pictures of some cute things that made up my Christmas day.
Firstly some ever so sweet bunny crackers which I bought at the local PDSA charity shop from their new products range:

Whilst I was ill recently I sat and made Hello Kitty decorations like the child I really am underneath my 18 year old facade.
I found the images online and printed them off on card. Then a hole-puncher, ribbons, glitter and gems were necessary. Here are some of the ones I added to the tree in our sitting room:

Now for the tree in my bedroom: 2ft of acid pinkness that I could not resist in Paperchase within Selfridges Birmingham despite the prospect of carrying it round all day making manouvres round stands somewhat tricky and bringing it home on the train. I continued the pink theme in Paperchase with some glittery bows, they do clash a little but I do love mixing colours unexpectedly. I then found the tinsel pom poms in Poundland and I think the little baubles were from Tesco.
This time I went for a angel theme with my handmande Hello Kitty decorations.
